How To Spend The Last Days of Summer at insideout.topshop.com

Sad about summer coming to a close? We believe it’s not over until you decide it is. So if you’ve just come back from holiday or dreading going back to uni, we’ve come up with five hacks to make your summer last as long as you want it to…

1. Wear your holiday wardrobe every day

Remember that feeling of wearing your favourite summer dress out for the first time this year? Relive it by challenging yourself to style one piece of your holiday wardrobe every day – think sandals with jeans, a bathing suit worn as a body or your nicest beach bag to work.

2. Listen to your summer playlist on repeat

If anything keeps a sentiment alive it’s music. Create a “Summer 2016” playlist including the song you listened to at the beach, your favourite tune from a festival you visited and an ultimate party anthem – then listen to it whenever it rains. It’ll also help you pass the time until that Frank Ocean album finally comes out…

3. Write a summer bucket list

Make a list of at least 5 things – whether it’s the BBQ recipe you’ve been meaning to try, learning to skateboard (as inspired by the skater girls to know) or checking out the rooftop bar that’s been in your bookmarks for ages – and tick one of them off every week. To-do lists have never been so fun.

4. Finally read that book

Just because you can’t go on another vacation right now doesn’t mean you can’t take your mind on one with a book. Pick the first title that catches your eye at your local bookstore – or take inspiration from our list of the best books to read this summer.

5. Look ahead instead of looking back

If none of these steps help long term – plan something to look forward to. Whether it’s a spontaneous short trip over the upcoming bank holiday weekend or Labour Day, a huge end-of-summer party or even buying your festival tickets for next year (take a note of the alternative festivals that won’t break the bank) – the excitement will definitely help
