We’re flying through the summer! With a little over one month left of the season, soon it’ll be back to school and back to your regular scheduled lives. But before that happens, Las Vegas invites you to enjoy one final summer concert, comedian and celebrity. Here’s a peek at what’s happening in Vegas this August:

Star Trek Convention

The Star Trek Convention returns to Las Vegas this August 3-7 at the Rio Suites Hotel. This year’s event will include special presentations from JJ Abrams, a salute to Matt Jeffries, as well as karaoke, Saturday Night Dance Party, Star Trek Rat Pack and more. Star Trek celebrities expected to attend include William Shatner, Whoopi Goldberg, Kirstie Alley, George Takei, Scott Bakula, Jeri Ryan, Neal McDonough and many more.

Comedians 

It’s one hilarious month as world-famous comedians hit the Strip for special stand-up engagements. Actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg kicks off the laughs with a visit to Treasure Island on August 5. Also on August 5, one of America’s funniest female comics, Kathleen Madigan will show off her talents at the Mirage. The following night, former “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno brings his observational humor to the Mirage.  “Blue Collar Comedy” comedian, Ron White will bring his scotch, cigar and humor to the Mirage August 19 & 20 and actor, writer and comedian Chris D’Elia will take the stage at the Mirage on August 26 and 27.

Concerts

Country music fans can party with Hunter Hayes when he brings his hits to the Cosmopolitan on August 6. Hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will perform at The Pool at the Hard Rock Hotel during Friday Night Live on August 12. Some of Vegas’ biggest headliners will also return to the stage this August including Britney Spears and her show “Piece of Me” at Planet Hollywood beginning August 17. Mariah Carey brings her #1 hits to Caesars Palace beginning August 24 and Jennifer Lopez continues to dance “on the floor” with her show “All I Have” at Planet Hollywood through August 13. Also on August 13, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas reunite on the Future Now Tour at MGM Grand. Huey Lewis and the News will be at Mandalay Bay on August 19. The T-Mobile Arena has quite the star power this August including Barbra Streisand on August 6, Gwen Stefani on August 19 and Slipknot with Marilyn Manson on August 21.
